Default head liner

Hope we are talking about the same replacement. I have a97 xk8 convertible whose interior lining was damaged by mold sometime in the past. First, anybody know if the liner can be easily removed from the exterior outside fabric, are there aftermarket full replacements? Any help would be appreciated.

This is the forum for the 2009+ XKs, but if you are asking if you can re-use the fabric, the answer is probably no... you will need to remove the old fabric from the board, scrape off all of the old glue and foam, and use new foam backed fabric.

First off, you're in the wrong forum, you should be here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/

Secondly, the convertible liner must be replaced. Hopefully you will find someone there who can help.

Default XJL 2013 black headlining

I have ordered a couple of sample books, so that I can snip colors for anyone interested in receiving them for headliner replacement. The books are back ordered for a couple of weeks, however, I purchased some yardage of the colors that I thought would match the majority of Jaguar OEM colors:
Black
Oyster (most like the Caramel Jag interior)
Fawn (a little deeper color than the Oyster)
Cream (an ivory shade)

If I can help anyone out by sending snippets of the fabric, it would be my pleasure. And if it works, I will be happy to purchase and ship whatever yardage you need. I have used thousands of yards of Passion Suede over many years. It is a very realistic looking and feeling suede imitation, with outstanding durability and quality, and costs approximately 1/20 of UltraSuede. As I stated, there are many dozens of colors, so you're not limited to Jaguar colors.
Let me know if I can help.
Ted
Hi Ted,
My headliner is sagging and needs to be replaced. A 2013 XJL with black headlining. Is the Passion Suede (in black color) still available for order?
Regards,
Tall

Hi Tall, I am very sorry to inform you and many others on this forum that, regrettably, Ted recently passed away. As he had done for me and many others, he was in the process of getting samples for me for another job when i received a call from his wife that he died unexpectedly several weeks ago. He was a real gentleman and so gracious with his desire to help others. Although I never met Ted, we talked many times on the phone and all he wanted to do was to assist. A real loss to all of us that knew him.
I suggest that you contact Fabric Empire in Southern California to obtain Passion Suede samples for your needs. I would also like to point out that you can order samples of the same color of Passion Suede from multiple suppliers and there could be significant dye lot variances. So, make sure that the samples are taken from the fabric roll that provided the samples in the first place. I used Passion Suede ( with Ted's help ) on my XK and am very satisfied with the end result. Good luck in your quest.

This is terrible news. I just bought headliner fabric from Ted. Class act all the way. He was a good man. RIP Ted

Hi Cfilice,
Many thanks for your message, - any idea how many yards I should order for my XJL 2013?

So sad to learn we lost Ted. Condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed for his generosity.

Regards,
Tall

That's terrible news. It was his material I used when I replaced my headliner. A part of him will live on with me in my car now. I hope he doesn't mind my cursing at slow people in the fast lane.

May God give peace and strength to his family.

His wife called me as well and devastated to hear the news. He was a lot of help to me and I had spoken with him a few times a week for the last few months and I considered him a friend. I’m sad I did not get to say goodbye and I will miss him greatly
