Service Required
I have never bought a car that still had warranty coverage (except engine and tranny) so I have always done my own maintenance. Of course it helps that I have a lift in my garage. Best tool I have ever bought.
I guess I should edit my last statement;
My GARAGE is the best tool that I have ever bought! The lift would be the second best. I guess over here in Florida, a lot of people have garages and we obviously take them for granted.
Even IF I could get wife acceptance for a lift in the garage (
), I'd only get about 4 feet of lift, and that's with the top and windows down, due to living space above, and the shape of the garage.
But being able to sit underneath would be a bit better than only the only option of being flat on one's back.

In short supply in London - also, many of them were built in an era of smaller cars, so they're too short & narrow for an XK. Most Londoners with a garage seem to use it as a storage shed, or convert it into an extra room.
Also, I called the company, and they indicated SB1010s for the front 2010 XK, or the version in stainless steel, but guessed at the rears. For 2009, the SB1010s are the size. Based on the above link, SB1010s are good for the 2010.
Yes, standard XK & XKR brakes (both 4.2 & 5.0) are Continental ATE, in various sizes - ATE is Alfred Teves, which Conti bought a few years ago, so some people call the system 'Teves'. The only exceptions are the 4.2s with the Alcon option, and the R-S GT which has Brembo carbon ceramics.
Yes; this is the procedure:
1. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch (before the ignition is on).
2. Press the start button without applying the foot brake (do not start the engine)
3. Release the rear fog lamp switch (1sec)
4. Press and hold the trip computer cycle switch (within 1sec).
5. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch. (within 1sec)
6. Continue to hold the trip computer and rear fog lamp switches.
7. The message centre should display "resetting service mode" and then "service mode reset"
8. Release the trip computer and the fog lamp switches and turn the ignition off.
I've never done this myself, and apparently the timing is very precise and easy to get wrong.

So I finally got the service interval indicator on my 2010 XK (~16K miles) and since I do the oil change and normal maintenance, I tried to reset the indicator.
You are not kidding! For step 3, when you say 1 sec, Jaguar really meant 1 usec, i.e., as soon as the car electronics powers up. Took me 30 min of practive to get it that quick! . Also, I got the "resetting service mode" but it never went to "service mode reset (after 10 sec or 30 sec). But upon starting the car, the service indicator was gone. Hooah.
