Default Side Window Defroster Vent cover/grill

Have a 2009 XK and somehow lost the vent cover on the passenger side on the top of my black dashboard. It looks like a plastic part that just snaps into the vent hole. Local dealers claim the cover/grill is not available as a separate part and one needs to buy the entire dashboard assembly. Have emailed numerous jaguar "dis-assemblers" (junk yards) to no avail. Can anyone out there help me find this part? Thanks in advance. Michael

I don't know. Maybe see if there's the off chance that the part was used on another Jag / Ford / Lincoln / Volvo. My son's Lincoln LS did the same thing. Plastic fingers hold them in place.

Mine flew out one day but I was lucky enough that it didn't fly out the car with the top down!

Thank you for the suggestion..will need to think about it. Don't want to break the other one and have two holes in my dashboard.

Unfortunately - mine flew out with the top down and I didn't notice it at the time.
