Default Siruis radio stuck on 99% during update.

Just recently purchased a 2012 XK. Love the vehicle except the sat radio doesnt work. I first hit the sat tab and the sirius screen came on and started updating. It's currently stuck 99%. Called Surius to have them send a multiple refresh signals, no help. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to upgrade the touchscreen interface?

Thanks for your help.

The touchscreen system is updated with a new map DVD, the newest is 2013-14 Jag-Specific. I also updated my maps with a Volvo update DVD, but I don't believe it updated anything other than the maps.
Check the forums for New Map Disk or something similar.

The map disc only updates the software in the navigation unit (the DVD drive in the trunk) if you want to update the software in the touchscreen or audio head unit, this can only be done with the dealers diagnostic tool SDD.

But to be honest, I would not expect any improvement from updating the screen or the head unit, if there are even s/w updates available (I haven't checked if there is TBH)

You might need to reboot the Sirius module, one way to do this would be to unplug the power to it while the infotainment system is active. Take off the carpet trim from the trunk that covers the battery, and unplug the power cable from the Sirius module, it's a silver box in the media stack, just above the navigation DVD drive. When you plug it back in, you'll need to cycle the ignition.

Hi Cambo,

Thanks for the info, I tried it several times, unfortunately its still stuck on 99%. I'm thinking I may have to replace it. I' pretty mechanically inclined, but since this is my first Jag, are there any certain tricks I should know before proceeding?

Thanks for your help.

I don't know which module you have in your car now, probably it's the old version. There are newer versions from ~2013 or 2014, you'll find them in the XF, XJ and various Land Rovers.

Like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/RANGE-ROVER...M/232381801797

You see the newer ones have Jaguar Land Rover branding, the older ones are branded FoMoCo

The newer ones have a green power connector on them, and you need an adaptor for the power cable, the one in that link looks to have that adaptor included.

If you do swap in a different module you'll have to give the provider the serial number or ID number off the module in order to activate the subscription. As I understand it, JLR gave the ID of the module in each vehicle to the provider along with the VIN, so the customer gives the provider the VIN, they look it up and get the ID number of the module, and apply the subscription. If you change the module then their records won't match, so you need to give them the ID off the label instead.
