so my soft top unlatched ok but is slow to start retracting ( 10-15 seconds) but then folds back normally. when i raise it it is again slow to engage but does close and lock but it takes considerable time for the windows to raise. i would guess 20-30 seconds. is that normal or are the windows effected by possible problems with the hydraulics?

 

Considerable time for the glass to be in motion, or a long pause before or after they begin to move?

 

How’s your battery health? Are you doing this with the engine running or not?
Mine will be slower with the engine off. Sometimes the passenger window will not close all the way, and then retract if I’m closing the top with the engine off.

 

a long pause before the windows start to go up. they then go up as they should. i put a trickle charger on the battery so i'll check it tomorrow.

 

Reset your windows and make sure that your battery is fully charged. Operate the top only when the engine is running. See Post #5 by WhiteXKR (a.k.a. Steve the Jag Wrangler), the Forum's convertible top guru.
