So we have searched and searched but can not find a ref. for the use of the small elastic loop in the boot of this car. It is on the LH side of the boot a few inches forward of the vent grill. It looks like an umbrella holder but the vertical space is too limited. Any ideas would be welcome.
The only rubber loop that I'm aware of in the X150 was used to secure the wheel brace in the spare wheel toolkit (it looped around the spare wheel central bolt). Could it be that ??
Sorry no--this one is very similar to the loops that secured manuals or other things in many models. This one is just small (perhaps a flashlight) but was placed there for some reason--or not!
P.S. The actual product in the above bottle is not a cream as Cee Jay stated. It's a liquid, as evidenced by the fingertip sprayer on top of the bottle. Subsequently, Jaguar changed suppliers and the new version was a cream in this bottle.

Reason: Added P.S.
This elastic strap has appeared on Jaguar models for many years. The US is slightly larger than the UK size. The size is carefully calculated to hold the roll of 50 USD bills or 50 UKP notes required to support the 'ownership experience'.
Well thanks to all. There was no mention of it in the literature or factory photos we searched. This is one of those things that only an original car can solve. Again many thanks. Graham on the technical side do you think a roll of $100s will fit?

Now tell me I'm wrong.
Graham
Graham,
As you requested, you're wrong! For older models, that bankroll no longer functions as intended, as you failed to take inflation into account. You're going to need a bigger roll.

ha! on my desk at work i keep two coin jars. these are a give/take system for anyone who feels like getting a soda, or some other small need. the one with nickels, dimes and quarters in it is labelled "jaguar maintenance fund."
the one with only pennies in it is labelled "retirement pennies."
