Default So I bought a 2008 XKR

I have always loved how they looked and finally got my hands on a high mileage one. Now I need some advice on where to look for aftermarket parts. I have limited money 🤣 and even less knowledge of cars, just wanted to own this. A garage thinks I need to replace
Front shock absorber x 2Front shock kit x 2Front lower arm x 2Front lower link x 2Front upper arm x 2

Can you guys point to a decent aftermarket parts website so I can order this? I haven't driven it yet and only seen the car for 10 mins

Welcome to the forums Suneet,

Your IP Address shows you are posting from Dubai. As there aren't aftermarket Jaguar parts specialists in the Middle East, are you looking for a source in mainland Europe or the UK?

For genuine Jaguar parts or aftermarket requivalents, take a look at S N G Barratt website. This links to the UK site:
https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...?saveBranch=UK

They also have a branch in France which may be better for you for importing.

British Parts UK:
https://www.britishparts.co.uk/jagua...50-xk-xkr-c108

JLR
It can oftne be lower to order direct from JLR in the UK
https://www.jaguarparts.com/

Thank you again.

If any of you have a good/bad experience with any other suppliers please share.

Suneet, congratulations on your XK purchase, and welcome to the forum. The XK is certainly a car you can fall in love with. Best of luck with the repairs and happy driving!

Because Ford owned Jaguar, some suspension and electrical parts and fasteners manufactured by Ford are identical to the OEM Jaguar items. Those parts are identified in various threads on this Forum. Before you buy any parts, Google "Jaguar X150 Forums" and the name of the part you need and the OEM Jaguar part number. You can find the part number by searching for "OEM Jaguar Parts" and then search the vendor's website.

You may be able to find quality used OEM Jaguar parts from an Auto Breaker (Wrecking Yard, Dismantler, Junkyard). Those firms often belong to a network that maintains a database of available parts.

Some parts for your 2008 are out of production and may be hard to find.

Here's another good one for suspension parts:

Berkshire Jag Components
https://www.berkshirejagcomponents.c...s-c102x2777406

If cost is critical, they do supply bushes to refurbish suspension arms as an alternative to replacing them.

TBH in the 10 mins I drove it: I only felt it tilt very slightly to the right on acceleration and even that is because I was looking for it.
I think its an overzealous mechanic. Which is why I'm here. The oil change etc should be done tomorrow. I'll have it detailed and sanitized, hopefully will get to drive it longer before next weekend. I have had a few quotes locally ranging from 2000 Eur to 2500 Eur parts and labour included. Im waiting for some other quotes and will decide once I have driven it a bit more

EDIT: Changing the drive belt and engine mounts. All 3 reports for the car advised this.

I will get hold of the part numbers and do that. I know someone who works for the local Ford dealer. Thanks

I think there are at least one or two additional members of the forum with X150s in the UAE. Maybe one or more will chime in and provide you with some guidance. Welcome aboard, provide us with some pics and enjoy the ride.
