I was in California a couple weeks ago, for almost 2 weeks and hadn't seen a single X150, until almost the last day when I spotted a grey 2007 XK in a parking lot (elephant seal lookout area) along Big Sur.
Had to go back to my pictures to see if it was the same one in the Conan video (which you can tell by the grill is a 2007 XK).
But alas it was not, as the one I spotted had an aftermarket upper and lower grill. Had California plates though, belong to anyone here?

Shame on you, Conan, for using a Golden Retriever to make your foul-mouthed joke. That is so out of character for a Golden Retriever, the most affectionate, gentle, and forgiving breed that, if they could, would never say an unkind word. They are truly "Man's Best Friend. You should have used a Pit Bull.

I suffered watching that video for such a short glimpse of an XK.

You know what Golden Retrievers are bred for?

Bringing the killed in to the hunter.

Default Goldens Rule!

With all due respect, so what? You and I wouldn't be here today without dogs. Originally, all hunters did so to feed themselves and their families. Dogs helped humans survive. I understand your opposition to killing as sport, but that's no reason to knock Golden Retrievers. You would understand if you had one.

Before they became pets, dogs were working animals. Some were bred to herd sheep, goats, and other livestock; some were bred to protect and rescue people and property; some were bred to hunt other animals, and some were bred to retrieve game shot by hunters. Golden Retrievers were bred to have a soft bite that would not puncture the skin of fowl or other animals that dog was sent to retrieve. That inbred soft bite is one reason why a properly bred and trained Golden Retriever is an ideal pet around children.

Times change, and so have the jobs that dogs do today. Dogs provide therapy and assistance to handicapped people, help first responders find victims, enable law enforcement to detect narcotics and explosives, sniff out cancers before they're detected by traditional medical tests, and much more. They are simply the most versatile and willing helpers to do things we humans simply are unable to do. Humans simply don't have the hearing or sense of smell or courage that dogs have. Or unconditional love and affection that God gave to Golden Retrievers.

Makes sense that its called a retriever.
But what was the purpose for it to have long lady-like golden hair?

I thought dogs were a man-made species for man. God would never make anything subservient, if he did, he would have the wisdom to make the bird come and surrender itself for your dinner.

So, you want God to give you the b...? I can't say it. Too sacrilegious.

Amen, bro. And don't worry about the country going to the dogs. They get along much better than we do.

Can we agree that a Golden Retriever (or any dog, really) probably wouldn't blow up a building?

I also have a G.R.

Ah, well, there is a seperation of what I said from what your Golden Retriever told you.

I have no strong opinion on the matter.
I see it more as conditional?
Will you eat what you hunt? If yes, ok.
If no, then was what you hunted over populated and causing harm?

When returning from a walk this morning there was a situation that made me think of this thread.
I encountered two dogs off lead.
One a golden, the other a German Shepherd.

Seeing an unknown golden of lead caused no rise in my tension.
I can't say the same for the German Shepherd.

I've never once in my life had a bad experience with a Golden Retriever, or personally know anyone that has.
I can't say the same for the German Shepherd.
This is also why a Golden was picked, comedy relies on absurdity.
A golden ordering a builing full of people bombed - that is absurd.
It is part of the joke.
