Similar problem was posted awhile ago. Forget now exactly what it was, maybe the isolator dissolved?

I replaced my mounts yesterday.
Yours are crumbling but when you say honey, are you implying they are gooy or crystal like?

Previously asked and answered. See this recent thread for how to replace your worn out parts, or show it to your Indy mechanic.

It's shot either way and needs replacing. The shock absorber doesn't typically leak from the top, but I guess anything is possible. Removal is a bit of a pain and unless you're experienced in compressing springs, best use a shop.

See my post here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...2/#post2741397

Since that time, another member posted doing his with a set of parts he got from ebay for less than $50! Which means I spent $300 too much! I’ll have to look for that post…

@wymjym bought them here, and he says they’re the right ones for an XK convertible:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/314623695037

Apparently, the convertible ones are different than the ones for a coupe.

@fritzthecat,
a bit of clarity here, I believe, based on jaguar parts manual and other's comments, that the mounts are exactly the same for the convertible and coupe.
Further, these mounts are also correct for the front and rear struts.
I have not replaced my rears as yet but do have a set waiting for the time I get inspired.

Weird. This site:

https://jaguar.oempartsonline.com/v-...ont-suspension

shows C2P23038 for the convertible and C2D51875 for the coupe. I believe you, since you’ve done the job yourself and it worked. But if the online parts catalog is wrong, what else is it wrong about?

Even more confusion!
several UK jag sites show the c2d51875 number as having superceded the c2p10646/23038 designations.
