Default Sunroof option?

I'm not a sunroof sort of person, in fact I have had and currently own a vehicle with a sunroof but have never opened them.
I was waxing my XK yesterday and believe it or not after 5 years of ownership I realized it didn't have a sunroof
After giving it some thought I've come to the conclusion that I don't recall ever seeing an XK with a sunroof.
Was a sunroof ever offered as an option?

If you are the type of person that drives with the windows down, you might also enjoy a sunroof. If not, it's pointless...

Got one in our 19 year-old Lexus SC300 (it was optional equipment, but a search all-over the country could not locate one without it), and it hasn't been opened in 18 years. Also got one in wife's 2013 Lexus RX350, and she hasn't opened it since it left the dealership. Got one in our Mercedes E-350 coupe only because it comes standard, and it hasn't been opened since it left the dealer's lot. For me it's the most worthless piece of equipment. I'm glad Jaguar doesn't even offer them in the XK line. If you want the open air, really the convertible is the only way to go.

Disagree, sorry....,
My love of forested roads here in the pacific northwest often has me slowing down, lowering the windows, and in past cars, opening the sunroof to take in miles and miles of tree canopied roads.

I do miss a sunroof (Along with fold down rear seats)!

A few of my Jaguar saloons have had sunroofs and I would occasionally, on long drives on dark winter nights, open the sunroof and crank up the heater and enjoy a bit of fresh air.

I had my son in my coupe XKR recently and he put the passenger window down whilst mine was still up. It was surprisingly draughty on my side of the car so it gave me an insight in to what my passengers must feel like when I have mine open. A sunroof would probably not have the same problem.

I also do miss those fold down rear seats. You could actually bring something from Home Depot back to your house.

A couple of years ago I saw a first series XKR coupe for sale with a sunroof. It was done so perfectly inside and out that I started a post on the forum asking if it had ever been an option. Whoever did the installation on that XKR did a factory quality installation and I'm sure could find many takers. I'd have looked for one if they'd been available as I open them on cars I've had in the past. Now that I have both convertible and coupe XKR's, I don't care as much.

Being an avid convertible lover sunroofs are as close as I can get sometimes and I enjoy them immensely. I just yesterday closed mine in the Range Rover because it was 103 out. I love the air, side windows open, sunroof open....... or top down if that's the case. Couple years ago I went 110 days here in AZ without putting the top up on the XKR.
