Default Thoughts on gold/bronze wheels?

I will hopefully be getting my 08 Indigo XK this week. I have always been a fan of gold wheels. Bronze are ok but gold on the right car is fantastic. I had a 1072 Datsun 240Z Dark Green with gold BBS wheels. I also had a Renault Le Car Turbo with 3 piece Gotti gold wheels. I'm

thinking of this maybe....

Mirror finish gold just isn't my thing, but satin and matte finishes including bronze could and does look good on the right car... IMO

Gold plated wheels will quickly fade. Not my cup of tea.

Obviously this is a pure "personal preference" thing - and variety is the spice ... as they say. So if you love them - go for it.

Personally - I lean toward the traditional but also love a good black wheel which I have on one of my cars.

Default Black Wheels

I do like black wheels. I have them on my Cayenne. Not sure they would look good on a Indigo blue car.

I tend to agree, though mocking it up in a photo might tell you for sure. My black wheels are on a white car with red calipers - which is (for my taste) a really nice combo.

Here is a photo (sorry - it is not the best picture - but it gives you the idea):

I had gold wheels on my blue 71 Chevelle. I thought it looked good.

OK - you have aged me. Keystones and Radial T/A's - brings back a lot of memories.

im not a fan of gold wheels but you do you. I have black wheels on my XK but it Lunar grey, not indigo. id probably go with something polished aluminum-something that can be shined that pops.

but like others said, my opinion is of a 50 yr old man. I also have a big lifted truck (9") with 38" tires all around, and am sticking to NOT putting 24+" wheels on it. I like the old school look of the rubber, so I have 38" Mud Grapplers on 16" MT wheels.

I like the bronze into gold color wheels that are quite familiar on Alfa and Ferrari. Would look great on your indigo XK. The gold plated stuff; I'd avoid that one.

Here's one on a 4c that I find looks great.

Keystone Klassics! Those were always my favorite. Too bad they only came in 14-15 inch sizes. Of course they may look ridiculous on the newer cars.
