My opinion, which doesn't matter a whit, is the 5.0 and the Leapers and Supercharged are just a bit much. The //Rs seemed forced also. I like the carbon with the shiny bits a lot though.
I keep my engine compartment clean. That's not hard to do since my XKR isn't my daily driver and I never drive it in the rain.
For details of my carbon fiber-look Engine Appearance Cover see this old thread from 2014: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-cover-129949/. Unfortunately, some of the links no longer work. The graphic has held up better than I expected, probably because I always open the hood when I park in my garage to let the heat out of the engine compartment. I also wipe the cover off occasionally with a damp microfiber cloth.
I suppose it depends on what you're going for. If you're headed for the over marketing and display of a Nascar, you're in.
I am a proponent of "understated elegance" and "keeping below the radar" which differs from your exceptional effort..
The limited production 2014 XKRS-GT came from the factory with a genuine carbon fiber Engine Appearance Cover. That CF cover is no longer manufactured and cost around $4,000 when it was available as a replacement part. That was the inspiration for my $200 hydro dipped replica.
My car, my money, my choice.
This photo is from the rear of the engine compartment looking towards the front ot the car.
