Very true.

You later discover that no tire shop will repair a tire which has had sealant used inside. So you get to toss the tire first time you use the sealant. Better off to hit the auto parts store for a 'Plug repair kit' instead.

Oh, and just got back yesterday from a 1000 mile round trip in the XKR! Good times!

]I was being funny. I currently own 3 Jags and a Lotus. No love for new Z cars. Not long ago a guy came in here with no issues except for his extreme paranoia, and his Z was the center of stability for him. Id drive a Jag to hell and back.
1994 XJ40 with 81k miles
1994 XJS 4.0 with 172k miles
2007 XK with 136k miles[/QUOTE]

I missed the humour...this just shows how much proper communication depends on facial expression, tone of voice and so on. So many misinterpretations! And now I do remember the Z-man and the paranoia.

I would not hesitate to take my 2010 XKR on a trip either. I've put over 60,000 miles on it (now at 120,000+), maintain it well, and it's been very reliable and makes for a very enjoyable trip. I'm pleased to see that TBerg has even more miles than I do on his. These cars are meant to be driven so my advice to him is to get out there, start living, and enjoy that amazing car.

I'd go as far as it didn't need maintenance.

What did the guy that traded the Z for the XK end up getting? I must have missed it...

Fear of things that haven't happened would be a terrible thing to live with.

Some people seem to lack the ability to break down their fear by use of available information.

I had a lot of faith in the X100 and had been hobby shopping for some years for a right deal to fall in my lap.

Was pretty comfortable with the X150 to be reliable and low maintenance.

No matter what car you are talking about, everything depends on whether or not the maintenance is up to date. If you have existing problems with the car then don't take it on a long trip. You are just asking for trouble. Unfortunately all my Jags are all in need of work and they are only getting driven a bit around town. My old '96 Mustang had over 205,000 miles on it last Summer when I took it on a 1,300 mile, two day trip to So Cal and back over a weekend. I've managed to keep that car in good shape and would not be afraid to drive it any distance at a moments notice. Hopefully I can bring my Jags up to the same standard. I drove my XJ6 everyday and everywhere, and up to Washington state after I bought it. I sure do miss driving that car.

I am pleased to hear the replies. My Jag will be driven as far and as much as I can.
