Default Trying to identify components...

2007 XKRI noticed a missing connection to a hose at the front of the engine bay. There are two and one is connected with a quick disconnect fitting, while the other is just hanging out (pics below). I may have found a reference to this as part of the headlight washer system, but would think we'd notice the mess of it trying to work with a popped hose. Not to mention how odd it would be to have a hose that big for a washer.
Any info on what that connector is properly called so I can hunt one down would be awesome too.

That's what it is though. The larger hose has more area therefore more pressure to stick the sprayers out.

Also you may not have noticed a mess because they only activate with the headlights on AND you try to wash the windshield. And that too if I recall correctly, not all the time - like every fourth or fifth time these conditions are met (not sure if this part is accurate or if I’m thinking of a different car).

HEADLAMP WASHERS
Note: Telescopic headlamp powerwash units are contained within the front headlamp units. If the ignition system is on, dipped beam headlamps are switched on and there is sufficient fluid in the washer reservoir, pressing the program wash and wipe button will also operate the headlamp powerwash; directing two short bursts of washer fluid onto the headlamps.
After the first headlamp powerwash operation, the headlamp powerwash will operate on every fourth press of the program wash and wipe button, provided that the headlamps are still switched on and a 10 minute timer has elapsed since the last headlamp powerwash.
Note: The powerwash sequence is reset when the headlamps or ignition is turned off and on again.Note: The headlamp powerwash function is inhibited when the low washer fluid warning is on.

You are all awesome, thanks for the info!

Any ideas what the proper name is for the quick disconnect fitting? Would rather hunt one down without having to go to Jaguar for a formal part. ;-)

The elbow connector that connects the rubber water-line tube to the headlight assembly is broken off but I'm not sure what the part name or number is.
Were you able to determine it? It is likely a component used on multiple models and model years and may possibly be a Ford part.
