Default weird squeak

when i drive the car for more than a half hour. sounds like the axle barring or something. very irritating. has anyone else had this? its a sound that comes and goes while driving. high pitched.

i love this car. the way it looks, sounds (minus the squeak of course lol) drives, but coming from a 6 series that has zero problems and getting into this 2010 xkr with so many issues im really disappointing in jags build quality. i mean just look at this forum. 80 percent of it is people complaining about problems. i was considering the xkrs convertible for my next car but with all the problems i have had with this car im second guessing it

Don't know what's causing your squeak but I agree that these cars are not tops on quality issues. I've got a new 12R vert and in just 600 miles here's what's gone wrong so far:

Defective tires...overnight major flat spotting and balance issues. I know Jaguar didn't make the tires but they don't make much of what goes into the cars...it's almost all outsourced so it counts.

Brake pull due to warped rotors or binding piston in caliper; IMO it's the caliper

Condensation got in both headlights...a new bug for 12?

Active exhaust squeak...pulled fuse 19 and no more squeak.

Miss during part of cold start cycle

Not giving up on it yet as my dealership's service is very eager to get on these issues.

Also understand that these are minor issues...nobody's had an engine blow up or a tranny go out. And it's somewhat the nature of a board like this to help each other with stuff like this.

There's lots of other positive stuff we talk about as well. When you start talking about machines as complicated as these fixing a squeak here and there is not that big a deal (in my opinion).

My XKR is like me - it's not perfect (well, it's close ) but it sure is loveable

Agreed nothing that leaves one stranded, and good things to post here to share to help each other find resolutions; sure is a lot better going to service knowing the exact cause of what the problem is.
Still a lot of issues in just 600 miles

thats true but getting out of a 6 series that had zero issues for the 2 years that i leased it and getting into a jag that has had countless malfunctions in that same amount of time is disappointing and frustrating.

Agreed gun

I've got a rattle coming from the drivers rear quarter window area that's beyond annoying...another thing on the list for the dealership to attend to.
