What’s behind / inside the panel in front of the battery? Can I drill in to it?
I’m currently considering options for a subwoofer installation. It looks like thin sheet panels covering something structural.
Take out the rear seats, and you’ll see the electronics and wiring on the other side of the panel. Don’t drill blindly into panel, you may create a huge headache.

thanks
A fuse/relay panel and a myriad of wires, and I support kj07xk recommendation to not drill blindly. All is visible if you remove the rear seat back.
To make things perfectly clear: if you poke around behind the rear seats, that might be the last thing you ever do.
In order to install what the factory forgot - the remote control top module with rear window controller made by WhiteXKR (Steve, the Jag Wrangler) - I had to remove the rear seats to access and remove the pop-up roll bars. I was terrified to do that, as I worried that I'd accidentally trigger the pyrotechnics that activate it. Pop-up Roll Bars
Thanks to Steve's outstanding instructions, I survived.

From his posted picture, he has a coupe. So on the plus side, no roll bars to deal with, but on the negative side, it’s a coupe, so Steve’s controller would do him no good (unless Steve has figured out how to open the roof on a coupe ).
