There is an eq system. I guess I was premature in my recommendation of Navihua, the seller of my radio. As described in an earlier post, the hazard/pass seat belt switch doesn’t work. After much back and forth, sending video of a switch not working and testing the wires, they have stopped responding. I have no hazards and the airbag light is on. I’m posting this in the hopes that someone here knows how I can fashion a new switch or buy one somewhere…frustrating…
Sorry to hear that. Let's hope they have an holliday or something.
What is the switch you're speaking about? Can't find it searching on the net. Where is it in the car? Is it the red warning parking alert which is under the radio?
If your airbag light is on, your airbags probably won't work in a crash, you won't pass a state safety inspection, and you might not be able to sell your car. I would rip out that Tesla style screen and replace it with the OEM screen. I would never sacrifice my safety over a fancy screen.
Lesson learned. Buyer beware of buying anything directly from China, as they have your money and you may have no recourse, even if they say you do.
You're right Stewart, but the thing is there's no other option than the Tesla screen but Cambo's set... wich is a fair price...untill shipping+ custom duties + taxes adds up to the things coming from the other side of the world :-(
I thought about his solution first... the price was fair and working with someone from a democracy is always what I favour.. then with the options, shipping, all the additional costs to bolchevik France, the set up ended around 3500$!!!! Plus quite a fair amount of work ...and the need to find anyone around able to activate the AUX input... or spending +400$ to get something to do it myself...(To be honest I would have prefer a car without this stupid central unit mixing audio and car set up...)And then improving the sound quality to an average level adds around 500 $ again..
That's why I asked in the dedicated subject for people with Tesla screen to give feedbacks and source of their stuff...but had no answers..
Thanks Justin. Always difficult to find matching technical names when you're not native English :-)
Anyway, How is this switch related to the airbag and seat belts?
Are the passenger airbag and seat belt presence switch supervised by the central unit?
Did you charge your battery to its full and made an hard reset after installing it @arenaej ? Installation might have drain your battery out and as you know the XK turns crazy when the battery decrease...

Right off the top of my head the only connection I can think of is what the car does if it detects a collision in progress. The system will turn on the hazards, unlock the doors, fire the appropriate airbags and so forth.

Here’s an update on my Tesla Style Android Radio install/dilemma. I knew when I posted my issue here I would get some diverse responses. I needed some help and I knew that the answer was here somewhere so you take it all in the hope that you get the help you need. SeanW really stepped up to give me the info I needed to come up with a solution. Hopefully someone down the road can save some of the frustration I have had… It turns out that the connector for the hazards/pass seat belt was wired incorrectly. The connector on the car side has 10 pins with 7 wires. The Tesla connector has 10 pins with 4 wires - 1 ground, 1 hazard switch, 2 pass seat belt. The 4 wires should have been connected to pins 1-6-7-8. They were connected to 1-7-8-9. I found some awg 20 pins on Amazon, cut the wires, crimped on the pins, put them in the proper positions on the car connector and now the flashers work, seat belt light is out and this system is really awesome…SeanW had the info on the pins in his thread posted in the stickies - best forum in the world!

Maybe let the supplier know if you haven't already.
Glad you found and repared it @arenaej . Such stories are the reason why forums will always survive to social networks and all.
Now you reassure me ! I studied several options and think I'll take the plunge for the Tesla screen as it allows a much better sound quality and will still be upgradable through speakers and amp exchange in the future.
their price is quite reasonnable and as you stated 6gb 128Go are enough, I guess I'll take the same as their price is quite "low".For that price there's no much choice giving comparable improvements and the forum experts will always be there.
Did you order it through their alibaba page ? how much did you pay for fast shipping?

I started my inquiry on their website. Once we agreed on the price they created an order on Alibaba, so, payment was made through Alibaba. I used PayPal to pay with my credit card. Shipping was $90.00.
I must confess i haven't drive quicker than 90km/h (56mph).I would have but it was so noisy! Felt like in the middle of a forest under an hurricane.
But surprisingly it didn't lost more than 10 or 20 leaves... The most pleasant was it's a fragrant tree (Elaeagnus Ebbingei) and when there was red lights, with the sun, i was like driving inside a bottle of jasmine perfume
So i was in direct contact with nature, hearing the sound of a V8, under the sun with a perfect smell all around.
What else to ask for?
Picked the wheels up from the powder coater. What a difference from the original color and from previous owners touch ups.
They the part now with the calipers all dressed up..
Just need those clear euro reflectors next...

So finally, 8.5 years after buying a Bovee Tune2air WMA1000, and installing an ACM, I finally got around to activating the ACM and pairing my phone to the Bovee. I’ve had a VCM and cables, along with SDD software I purchased from Cambo, sitting on a shelf for years. Also had a Mongoose cable and software from British Diagnostics sitting on a shelf.
A few days ago I loaded up the software from Cambo (SDD installed and running on an old Win7 laptop) and connected the VCM to it, but the dang thing wasn’t correctly recognizing the VCM on any USB port.
So today I tried the BD software (an XP virtual machine) on the same laptop, and it recognized the Mongoose cable on the USB port.
After a couple of failed attempts due to too thin of cables from my power supply (voltage was too low to proceed), I got better cables on it, and successfully completed the ACM activation!
Paired up the Bovee, and got music from my phone, yea!
Long time coming, but finally done (will have to investigate the VCM issue some other time).
Welp, with all that software and some experience, can you turn off the tpms system?
My heart jumps a beat every time it comes on. I ran the tires at 40psi for an entire tank full and the fault continued. Lowered the pressure to appropriate and the faults quit for three tanks full and then...tada...here they are again. So, I could buy 4 new sensors, a new control box and a new battery but probably the faults will continue...thinking the sdd is a better (for me) approach.
I'm old and could live without the tpms.

If I get a chance to set it up again over the weekend, I’ll check. The only times I’ve gotten a TPMS warning was when I’ve actually got a tire going flat due to picking up a nail or other debris, so I’m not going to turn it off (especially with a long road trip coming up), but if I get a chance, I’ll see if it’s an option.
