What did you do to your X150 today?

Actually, there's a pretty decent-sized contact patch, and there's a spare adhesive if I do have problems.

I purchased the OEM rear chrome Leaper from Rimmer Brothers and attached it to the deck lid under the rear spoiler. Don’t know if I’ll keep it as the pre 2012 XK’s have the chrome trim embossed with Jaguar vs the 2012-15 just having the small chrome trim with the leaper above.
My two cents...

I’ve tried to buy just the trim piece from a 12-14 but it seems I must buy the whole tailgate...not happening.
Before look
After look, (disclaimer.... this is not my car - but looks just like mine ) as mine is again put away due to weather

Thats what makes us human, everyone has different tastes !

thank you very much for this information, at 283 bucks I’ll keep my chrome trim. Plus, I don’t have to worry about Jag experts driving behind me saying I’m a poser trying to make my car look newer then it is. Lol

Hey...hey....hey, by no way was I trying to instigate a quarrel among us. Nor was I implying anyone was bogarting here. I merely wanted to share that I liked the look of the 12-14 XK with the Leaper on the rear so I added it to mine. I also like the cleaner finisher look of the later but not at a price of 400 painted. That’s money better spent else where ( like tires from driving it, like I stole it ) hehe.

We’ve had the X150 for just over a year and added maybe 2000 miles.
Finally bit the bullet and had the transmission service done. Full fluid/gasket/pan and a new mating collar.
Also, think I have a final fix for the stuck center console. Basically had the tray opened and pins removed so it can’t lock. Now the issue is the console lid won’t stay shut as the spring tension is too great. I think I am installing a magnet catch ($2 at Home Depot) on the right side where the pins were. It works with a taker on solution. However, I’m going to disassemble to bolt the catch properly. I’ll post more details when done.

Went and had a decarbonisation service from a local company offering a Terraclean service yesterday, included in this was the DI decoke service
https://www.terraclean.co.uk/
Did the journey to the garage for my Terraclean at 10.15am this morning with ave temp at 12c, I warmed the engine up for 10 mins and reset the trip. The 18.4 miles at an average speed of 54mph and economy of 24.4 that took 26 mins, sorry no pics as they were waiting for me at the garage when I arrived and didn't want to look like a complete (abbreviated) Richard!
Had the terraclean done I reset again and did the journey back in 13c this afternoon at an ave of 55 mph, warm engine took 25 mins and economy at 30.4, it was actually 30.7 when I pulled up on my drive but, the 30 secs idling whilst I found my phone to take pics, saw it drop a smidge.
I've done that journey a few dozen times and (whilst I was never really looking at the economy...who does in our cars??) don't think I've seen more than 26. Why the slow speed I hear you ask? Sadly roadworks on motorway with a 50mph ave speed check and traffic, but I did hit 85 in areas that weren't restricted
So best case a 20% increase on economy figures in similar conditions, and in case you don't believe me, pics below as proof
Note I had my DTUK powerbox on and the DTUK pedalbox set to 'race' (read as highly responsive pedal) in both drives, also note that when coming back I had an extra 40lbs in the car as did a little shopping whilst it was been cleaned.
Will get it emissions tested early next week, the garage said that when they put the first small bottle of cleaner in there was quite a lot of black smoke through the exhaust, there was none on the second bottle. The DI intake cleaner also didn't see any smoke generated. No fault codes before or after.
My car has under 49k miles and this isn't something I'd get done every year, more like every 50k miles, hope it's been of help
£258 inc VAT for both treatments (which they had underquoted by £100 as they are new and quoted me the 4l price), it may be 'snake oil' but the emissions test next week will show if a difference has been made.
In American money that works out to 25mpg, (taking your smaller gallon into account), appreciate that this side of the pond we pay on average $6 USD per US gallon, so any fuel saving is appreciated

Dr Color Chip
last week I ordered the Dr. Color Chip paint kit and some fine good quality brushes. Yesterday I tackled three of the more noticeable chips on my car. The paint is a dead match and it works exactly as it’s suppose to following the directions. I think Another application will do the trick for me as I did two or three costs yesterday and wanted it to sit overnight to fully cure the already applied paint. I’m not going to add all the pics but her is one before and after on the right side door handle.

That looks remarkably good for a touch-up.
When I paint a car I usually add a touch of Body Color to the sealer coat so stuff like the top photo doesn't happen so super-obvious. White car with black primer/sealer is crazy.
OR, am I wrong and the black is the substrate?
My Pearl Metallic rock chips on the bumper cover are obvious because the paint is DARK and the P/S is light. Weird how that works. I have too many chips on that bumper cover for touch-up, probably get a respray some time.
I DO have a scratch on my new/used Speed Pack spoiler that I installed used, and that CAN benefit from some Dr Colorchip. I just don't know WHAT color it is, as I left it the black metallic as it looks cool like that.
Ultimate Black Metallic?
Amethyst?
Ebony???
