Default Where does this Spring belong

Found this spring laying in the driver's side foot well. It came from somewhere under the dash.
I don't think it's part of the brake or throttle pedal.

Where does it belong?
2007 Jaguar XK Convertible.
Thank you!

Just taking a guess here by comparing to other vehicles I've had, on the brake pedal mechanism?
Under the throttle pedal to keep it upright from the linkage?

Its not strong enough to act as a bake pedal return spring. Its a lightweight spring. It might attach to the brake or throttle pedal but that's only a guess.
I'd just like to have an idea of where it belongs before I try to shimmy my plus size frame under the dash. ;-)

I found a picture that shows the brake pedal assembly. You can see the return spring. It's not the same as the one I found laying on the floor.

I thought it may be the brake light SWITCH spring, not a return spring. I've never looked at a Jag brake switch. T'was a guess.

My first thought was the same but the brake switch is a plunger style with a built-in spring.

Hard to gauge the size of the spring however I know there is a spring on the plastic flap just above the steering wheel

I added another photo to my original post so you can get a sense of the scale of the spring.

I don't see a flap above my steering wheel. I will take a closer look tomorrow.
