Will F-Type kill the XK?
The way JLR has been dropping new models, a revival of the XK would probably be electric. Handling and driving dynamics aside, one of the key ingredients to loving my car is the >rumble< of the engine when I push the button. And if it happens to be in the garage with the top down at time of start-up.... all the better!!
After talking with a JLR product designer....he said they are working on something that will rival Tesla in the power department because thats what consumers want. It might be a redesigned XK or a JX but he did say they are getting back to their roots design wise. I took that as whatever they come out with next, it will look like an XK or XJ which is a good thing. If they rolled out a CX-175 looking car, it would probably be the first car I have ever bought new in my life.

I think "never" is too strong. Maybe 'not in the foreseeable future'.
