My wife's Note 8 works great on mine. I think maybe you have a Bluetooth issue with the car.

I'm looking at up grading my Samsung phone and was wondering what is the latest Samsung model that pairs with a 2012 or newer XKR.

possibly. However, Jag dealer said it isn't supported on my car. Only up to like 4-5 year old models of phones.

Your Jag Dealer is a nincompoop. Both my Pixel and my Pixel 3 pair perfectly.

Default smart phone connect

in my '14 XKR-S I always have to open iTunes first, then switch to Pandora if that is what i ultimately want. however, my phone is a iPhone 6+. are you saying that the 8s or Xs won't connect at all?
that is important as i am considering upgrading my 6+, but if I can not connect, i may just keep the phone i have.

As a basic cell phone user ( calls and text) I just updated to a Samsung J7 V 2nd gen phone and it was no problem pairing with my 2012. All contacts copied without a hitch. Just an FYI

No problem with connecting my iPhone 8 Plus to my '10 XKR for both Bluetooth calls and for streaming music via a Bovee.

I never had problems connecting any of my iPhones from the 3G all the way up to the 8 Plus to my '07 XKR either.

Default Bluetooth Lost and Found

Got in my 2009 XKR today and AARGH! my Verizon Galaxy S8 phone Bluetooth didn't automatically connect to the car as it has always done. I suspect that resulted from the recent Verizon system update, but I'm not sure. To make a long story short, here's what I did to pair my phone to the car so that the hands-free phone works again. Note that the Jaguar phone compatibility website link in Post #63, above, does not list the Galaxy S8 as being compatible, but it is.

1. Start engine and delete that phone from the car. Shut engine off.
2. Confirm that the phone settings show Bluetooth enabled. Also VERY IMPORTANT scroll down to More Connection Settings and make sure that Nearby Device Scanning is turned on. Turn phone off (not restart).
3. Turn phone on, go to Settings - Connections - Bluetooth and make sure it is in scanning mode
4. Start engine, go to Phone and search for new phone.

Be patient. It may take a few seconds to pair. When it does, your car will give you a 4-digit code to enter into your phone. After I did so, I was paired and docked and was asked if I wanted to share the phonebook and clicked on Yes.

Works fine now.

Default Jaguar XF Bluetooth connection

Wireless Bluetooth Car Adaptor Music Interface for Range Rover, Land Rover, Jaguar in car i-Pod Integration (with i-Pod Cable)

I was unable to connect my Iphone X until installing the adaptor above purchase from amazon. They have several variations for different models but I bought the one specifically for Jaguar. It worked great just plugged into old ipod docking station paired phone and it worked. One of the easiest upgrades I ever did. Jaguar 2011 XF Premium

Note> I updated my BT module a couple years ago to an 09 version.

Had the Galaxy S9 Plus - Discovered, Paired, full directory and last 10 calls all worked fine.

I posted a question to the forum about the iPhone X before purchasing this month.
Question was for 07 - 09 US models and whether there we any issues. (BT Firmware changed in 2010)
I got positive responses from all 3 model years so I bought the XS Max.
Discovered and paired in under a minute. Has all the Jaguar features working. Thought I'd post the results of both for future forum members.

Jaguar Connectivity Centre has had an "update" since I last visited:
http://jaguar50.nextgen-technology.n...d=1&Culture=en

Most of the Past Models have disappeared. Although XK (2007-2011) is included with the option to enter last six characters of your VIN, the XK (2012-2014) appears to have been obliterated from JLR's memory.

Your phone will connect through the bluetooth BUT only for calls. You won't be able to play your music through the system. To do that, you'll need an Audio Connectivity Module (ACM). This will will need to be interfaced to the rear of the audio system. The ACM comes with a unit that you mount in the glove box. It has an RCA output. I the purchased a small TAOTRONICS ($25 on amazon) bluetooth adaptor that I connected to the RCA outputs.Th BT adaptor can be mounted with double sided tape anywhere convenient. It charges through the USB power supply on the unit in the glove box. You just have to hit the button on the Bluetooth adaptor to connect and disconnect from the phone each time.
You will the have to have the auxillary input activated by a Jag tech or dealer for it to work.My Jag mechanic did it for me. The sound is phenomenal.
The ACM is made by Jaguar and I purchased mine online, approx $250 plus installation. Had my auto audio guy do the install. Could have done it myself though. Not a big deal to do.
Good luck. Hope this helped.

Default Smartphone connectivity

Greetings, all
My comments refer to a 2012 XK only, but I'd expect they'd apply other models of this vintage? Short answer is no. Only an Apple iPhone will provide full phone connectivity and access to online music providers. The trick is you also need a genuine Apple adapter (about $US50) online - this has the small apple plug-in and fits the multi-pin cable that should have come with the car. The adapter piece is about 25mm wide. Cheap copies will not work - good old Apple! Once you have that bit of kit it should plug straight into the phone, then the fun starts: because of some propriety arrangement between JLR and Apple you must first buy and download a track, any track, from the Apple online music library - get something cheap for less than a $1. For some reason, once you download it onto your phone it will then allow you to access other music sites and sources including stuff you have saved to your phone - my weapon of choice is Spotify. The rest is as they say a walk in the park. If you don't have an iPhone you are out of luck. Suggest getting a deleted/superceded model and use it as the car default phone.

NOT having any cRapple product is worth not doing it that way. I use my direct audio output into the Aux Input. The cable cost $1.97, and I didn't need to buy any Itoonz song. Plug one end into phone, other end into Aux, and everything is perfect.
Total cost; $197 + tax. Total time; 15 seconds.
I also have over 9,000 of my songs on a flash drive stuck into the USB port, and that's always available also.

Cee Jay, hi. I totally agree with your view of the Applecentric-world, but, in my case capitulation was the only viable option as 'cutting off nose to spite one's face' isn't my thing! Irregardless, can you please tell me where the Aux input is located - spent a fruitless afternoon searching for one. Or am I correct in presuming that Aux inputs pre-date Bluetooth and Spotify by about a decade or so? Like the USB idea as well - albeit somewhat limiting in that you need to do the work downloading tracks as opposed to letting Mr Internet do it for you, and while on the move.

$197 + tax seem a tad excessive!

Cheers, and stay well.

Inside the glovebox. Mine's on the left side wall of the liner. My 2010 has full Bluetooth capability as it was never changed in all XKs, unless I missed something. Of course, the AUX in the Box seems to be only available on some years/versions as many people say they don't have them. Maybe a 2010+ thing? Or an option maybe.

You should consider adding a Signature to your posts using User Control Panel. That way you can list what year and version of XK you have to make it easier for people to know what vehicle specs you have.
