That is correct. Both coupe and convertible use 2620 self-piercing rivets and 283 blind rivets and 99 adhesive bonds. The only body weld is a joint on the roof of the coupe; none on the convertible. Details are in the European Aluminum Automotive Manual, in particular Section 1.3.3(c): http://www.alueurope.eu/wp-content/u...structures.pdf

This manual is extensive, and should answer all of your questions. It also covers Audi, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Spyker, Lotus, Morga, Corvette, and others.

WOW!! I'm very impressed with how quickly you were able to get this project on the road!! Like everyone else I'm interested in total the project has cost minus your own mechanical work...if you'd prefer not to list can you shoot me a message because I am tempted to try a project like this but afraid of the salvage vehicle cost, body straightening, parts etc. Thanks and once again AWESOME JOB!!!

Great watching your progress!!! I would like to know where you are getting your parts drawings and part numbers from. Also, any suggestions on OEM and aftermarket parts suppliers in the US would be very helpful. Can't wait to see what you run into next!

Hi, yes, I found the information from the same site about 2 months ago, but I wanted to check with somebody who was there with his hands.

Ouch, that was a brave project to take on. I'm not sure that when you're done you wont have actually spent more than what it would have cost to buy an undamaged car of similar year/miles.

The headlight glass is actually plastic and on my car has already collected several rockchips. I tried to buy a new 'glass' form Jag but they dont sell it separately, you need to buy a whole new headlight which are about $2500 each new.
You may like to know that I found there are plenty of used headlights on ebay for around $300 each.

For like $10 you can purchase the workshop repair manual from Jagdocs.
It details the necessary repair tools and methods as well as rivet part numbers and their respective grip ranges. It details the process steps involved in disassembly and reassembly of practically the entire car

Here is a screen shot of the cover and an example of the first few steps of one of the rear end repairs

Sorry to hear that. From the picture it looked like you took on a pack of lions, not just one Jaguar. Given that is the case, I'll ask the following. I have a 2008 XKR that is not drivable because I need a front wheel for it - it's otherwise street ready. It looks like the car you have has the same wheels - 5 spoke highly polished. If the wheels on your car are undamaged from the collision, would you be interested in selling one of the front wheels? If you are, we'll figure out a way to communicate in private. Let me know. I hope you don't find this request offensive, that's not my intension.

what a job, completely missed this post, wonder was the infamous duck bill replaced before the engine went in, its a pity it wasn't highlighted for us to see where it is located, zoomed in on the pics but cant make it out

His work is amazing but I'd be surprised if he didn't end up losing money compared to just buying a non-wrecked one.
Apart from anything else, even though this car looks great, it will always have a wrecked title, so will take a BIG hit in resale value.
