XK Differences between 2010 & 2012+

CarGurus played a big role in helping me find my 08 XKR. Cambridge, MA company looking at going IPO for those stock brokers in the crowd.

Interesting. I'm not always a fan of the black packages but I like this one-- but is it aftermarket?
On another topic, I've never been a fan of caramel/tan interiors. White/Oyster is cool, but I can't keep them clean enough. And after a few years and 50-60K miles, those white leather steering wheels are just kinda gross.

"Enhancing value and style, the 2013 XK and XKR models gain 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, with no change in vehicle MSRP compared to the 2012 models with 19-inch wheels. (The 19-inch wheels are standard on the XK Touring models.)"
The highlights for the 2013 MY are:
New XK Touring trim level offered
New XK Touring Coupe with Aero Pack and special equipment selection
New Portfolio Pack for XK and XKR models add special features and finishes
Limited-production XKR-S returns with 100 Coupes and 100 Convertibles available for the U.S. market for 2013
New standard 20-inch wheels on XK Coupe and Convertible
Dynamic Pack now offered on XKR Convertible, offers XKR-S suspension tuning

Convertible tops
I have owned 4 convertibles, a 2000 Jaguar xk8, a 2003 xk8, a 2007 Jaguar xk, and a 1999 Porsce Boxster. The 200 had a high pressure hose in the windsheild that would fail and did, I replaced it myself with parts from a salvage car at the cost of 400.00. The 2003 also failed in the same area. I had it done at a cost of 1700.00 dollars, the 2007 had a sevo motor on the front right closer fail, 1200.00 dollars, then the rear windshield which is glued to the top started to fall out, I reglued it myself at a cost of 25.00 for the 3m adhesive and was a total pain. The boxster had a mechanical, not hydraulic closer that never failed. I currently have a 2010 Jaguar coupe, no more convertibles for me.
Moses, been driving convertibles for decades. Something about open air, even tho the season is limited here in New England. Also own truck for winter driving if needed. Only negatives I have heard with convertible over coupe/other is limited rear seat space, smaller trunk space, heavier car, less rigidity (race day) and colder cockpit in cold weather. The space issues do not concern me and the other issues may have been a problem with earlier models of cars (my early mustang convertible had a vinyl top, no headliner or insulation), but convertibles are made by design these days. I am at a point where roadsters fit my lifestyle.
As for colors, all my mustang convertibles were red. Seemed to fit. My Jag is Lunar Grey/Charcoal. Kinda like the British green for the Jag. Maybe tan or black interior. Some advise against black interiors and tops, but I like the interior heating up by the sun in the spring/fall in New England. High noon in summer is not the best time to drive a convertible, early morning or evening is the most enjoyable for me.

Great thread! (I'm doing my homework on X150's)
(How come the '12 XKR - 4100 lbs - weighs more than my seemingly much larger '07 XJR - 3900 lbs?)
Roughly '07 and later X350 XJ jags received a pretty much completely new set of electronics, etc, which really improved 'em. Any such "invisible to the eye" improvements in later X150's?

"Larger engine, more goodies. The seats alone are a bit heavier, because 16-way seats"
Gosh, hard to imagine seats heavier than the ones I had to remove from my XJR while doing the headliner recently. Like trying to lift your heavyset mother in law out of the bathtub...
Regarding the Glll 5.0L, specs sat its actually just a bit lighter than the 4.2L AJ. Per JLR:
Light, robust and very strong
The new V8 engines are built around a stiff, all-new, aluminum block with cast-in iron liners and cross-bolted main bearing caps to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. For the first time at Jaguar the blocks are high pressure die-cast, providing a superior finish and greater dimensional accuracy. The engines use aluminum heads, with four valves per cylinder and strong, spheroidal-graphite cast-iron crankshafts and forged steel connecting rods. The cylinder heads for the first time are specified with a secondary (recycled) aluminum alloy thus reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing the new engine.
The new 5.0-liter direct injection engines are more compact than their predecessors. Overall engine length has been reduced by 0.94-in. by relocation of the oil pump within the engine architecture. This length reduction improves engine bay packaging in support of enhanced safety cell performance while ensuring overall engine weight is virtually unchanged.
