Hi all, i have a squeak which i thought was coming from the dashboard, however, after looking at some of the messages here I decided to check the drivers side shock mount and i took it to an independent today and they confirmed, glad that's the cause but i was told the shocks could be doing with being replaced, its an older car (2012), not unreasonable to understand they might need done, mileage in 68k. My question is on the price, is it a fair price at $1104 each for Jag OEM?
They said they had issues on the sensors when using Bilstein.

That seems like low mileage for needing shocks. How are the roads in San Diego? I'm super careful going over speed bumps and the roads in Florida are super smooth. The roads should make the difference in how long these shocks last. My Lexus has 178,000 miles on the rear original shocks. That's crazy money for shocks!

Thanks Stuart, I'm doing the front two just now. He said the back two are weeping but suggested i can leave those for another 15k miles as long as they dont leak / give an issue.
I've only had the car for 6 weeks or so, the squeak which could be heard outside as well as inside was not a good 'look' for such a nice car and was driving me nuts lol.
It's been very well maintained previously by another member here.
Bilstein IS oem... the sensor issue is because there is alot of bad data
on shock compatibility on Xk shocks...
the ones listed for the 2010+ are usually wrong and visa versa
I have a pair of new Bilsteins you can have for $650 plus the ride; as TRKYAM said, there is a lot of conflicting data on compatible shocks, so you should check if they are correct for your application
