I'm looking to enhance the sound on my stock XK n/a and I've been seeing so many different types of exhaust tips in the market. What kind of exhaust tips do you have on your XK, why did you get them and please share pictures.
Before anyone starts telling what I should do, please note that I will be doing whatever I want or need for my taste to be satisfied so please refrain from the smart comments andsimply provide examples so I can get some ideas.
As far as exhaust goes - Need more growl than the current stock setup and eventually I want to explore Mina Gallery but in the meantime, I will delete the center resonator and install an X-Pipe in it's place. I will then remove the rear muffler box and my shop will experiment different mufflers to determine what hits the sweet spot to my ears and touches the soul while on my bi-weekly drives on PCH and around town.
I have never nor will I begin to make any car of mine tacky with looks/performance and now sound. But the exhaust tips will need to say a lot about this coupe's uniqueness and tasteful sound. Don't care for XKR style quads and the stock rolled tips are small, too small for what this car stands for so I'll even consider 4" rolled tips or maybe oval tips that fit the current valance.
So please share your setups - I am open to suggestions, just not the banter or bashing. I'll even consider other brands in exhausts that sound right and don't break the bank - thanks in advance!
I saw some cute heart shaped tips on a Honda the other day. the exhaust note was some old love song melody.
wj
Don't mind the heart shaped - but you brought Honda crap into a Jag space.....so you should buy them, slap em on your jag and maybe start a trend big boiii
Mine has 6" oval tips from DC Sports. Can't comment on sound versus stock since they were done by the previous owner. I believe this is the XKRS type diffuser as well which would look strange without these wide tips or the double tips of the R's.
