Great document I came across documenting all the available features, differences from the X100 vs the X150, the coupe vs convertible, and 2007 vs 2008. Beautiful photo's, as well as prices(uk/pounds) of options. Full tech specs of every variation.
If you're looking to buy and want to know what's available, please read this. If you already own one, still a neat read.
I think this would be helpful as a sticky so new users stumbling in can find it easily.
‘Keyless start’ and ‘remote start ‘ are two different things.
Keyless start means you don’t have to physically insert a key into a slot to start the car, you can keep the fob in your pocket.
Anything like this published more recently? 2014 say?
If you are looking for a buyer's guide rather than a press review then The Essential Buyer's Guide - Jaguar New XK 2005 to 2014 by Nigel Thorley gives good coverage of options and things to check.
Published by Veloce in July 2015 (ISBN 978-1-845848-06-4), it was written after the end of production.
Perhaps just me but buying an XK is more a right of passage/joyous experience, it's your 'heart not your head' type decision. When you start getting logical and reading up about it something becomes a bit too clinical.
Forwarned is forearmed so did checked this forum for stuff to look out for like water pump failure, thermostat housing and area's that can show rust, but crucially had I taken the time to sit down and read a book, I'd probably not have purchased it and gone with a Panamera or Tesla S instead.

I'm the opposite.
I do like to know the different specifications and options available when making a purchasing decision.

No offense to anyone here who owns one, but... looking at this photo, I'm REALLY glad I never pulled the trigger on an R-S. It really does look like a catfish.

Yep. maybe it'd help to paint the center horizontal bar between the grills black to hide it a bit. Course that may make it look like a new Lexus with a huge gaping maw.
Dunno.
Two things
1. the front plate reads Veloce which takes me back to my Alfa days in 59 & 60 when I had a Giuletta. I think that's spelled correctly.
2. I would opt for the XKR skin over XKR-S innards if it could be done.

That's basically the XK Dynamic R, except it "only" has 510bhp, not the full 550bhp from the XKR-S. Otherwise the hardware is basically the same. Quick visit to a tuning shop would see that right.
