Default XKR Lowered H&R Suspension

Lowered my 2014 XKR over the weekend, might not be everybody's look. I think it looks nice and aggressive.

Pete go the Spires eibach 20mm lowering, the handling difference from the standard xk spring to the performance springs is exceptional.

Thanks, the H&R states it lowers 1.3 of an inch, Seems more. I also put the wheel spacers on, pushed out the wheels.

Too low for me. But each to his/her own. I would never get out the street that low!

I feel the rear looks to be sitting almost lower than the front, it would look better with a small rake ankle the other way.

Have you considered changing the red brake caliper covers to black?

Not a bad idea in black, I install the red, might be a bit much. I think black would look clean
Thanks

No way, red is loads better, links up with the rear light cluster and draws your eye around the car.

20mm spacers are perfect for the front, but 15mm is the limit on the rear I believe.

I'd consider spacers on the rear, but on the front they'd mess up the Scrub Radius.... and other geometry.

How do you drive over railroad tracks and parking lot speed bumps in a car this low? Also, how do you turn sharply at speed without rubbing front fender?

You'd be doing pretty well to notice any difference on these cars, as long as your geometry is set up properly and your tyre pressures are good. I certainly haven't noticed anything other than my car looking a lot better!

Does not rub at all in the front, I did get a bit of rubbing in the rear when taking a turn quickly. I had them "roll" the inside fender a bit and it went away. As for speed bumps, I go over slowly, otherwise I can bounce on top of them.
I get all kinds of looks in the car, it looks great

I agree with this. I put them on my XKR and am very happy. Firmer yes, but handling is also much improved.

I have lowered a couple of Alfa Romeo's in my days and wonder if an XK is DIY?
Any special tools needed?
Is it a pain to get them off and on?
