Default XKR Speed Pack Spoiler - Info

I just wanted to confirm to anyone looking for new speed pack spoilers that they're still available from Jag - I got one using the reference C2P22257XXX (XXX means unpainted). This is a pre-2012 spoiler part number and lacks the leaper on the back. It comes with adhesion promoter, an installation book (the book refers to the spoiler as being C2P17584XXX for 2010 which is another commonly referenced number for the speed pack).

I chose the three pin connector for the aerial as my vehicle is a 2010. Interestingly the spoiler is made in the UK by 'Polytech Holden'. The spoiler is plastic and is quite flexible. The light housing section is bowed and flexes back to position easily enough so my presumption is that I will need to add my rear stop light in order to flex it back.

Some random pictures below as finding a lot of info about the spoilers and the numbers are tricky.

As I have the satellite radio antennae on the hatch, that spoiler won’t fit.

Mine's not even close, with OEM Speed Pack Spoiler and Sat Antenna.

I have the coupe. The dealer tried it. It doesn’t work.

That's correct, at least for my '09 coupe. The antenna is almost right up against the stock spoiler. Glad I saw this posting. I was considering buying a speedpack spoiler from a member here, but he wouldn't give me a price and fortunately has now ghosted me. I love the look of the larger spoiler, but seems I dodged a bullet.

Cheers.

I painted and fitted up the spoiler today. A note that at least for my 2010 XKR, I actually needed to get the 2 pin radio connector - no problem as repinned the new one.

This spoiler really makes the car for me. The back end felt a bit incomplete without it and this really turns it into 'British Muscle' without being too over the top. I'm happy (at least for now) with not having the full speed pack as just the spoiler by itself looks really good. Visibility from the rear view mirror is still good as well. The spoiler is much, much larger than stock.

Did you have a problem with the antenna getting in the way, as others have mentioned? I don’t see your antenna in the photos….

Me, I'd get the Speed Pack Spoiler and cut out a spot for the antenna to fit into (if I had a coupe). Once I put on the larger spoiler, I'd never want the goofy little one again. They look silly in comparison.

I agree, the stock spoiler is really stubby looking and a bit silly once you see how the speed pack looks.

Fortunately, I don't have that silly antenna on the boot so no problems with fitment there.

How come? Yours isn’t a 2007 with an automatic aerial, so did it come like that, and if so, where is the antenna?

The zit on the boot lid is for satellite radio I believe. There is an antenna in the spoiler for regular radio.

That's not a bad solution.

I found this old thread about fitting the speedpack spoiler which is worth reading. It confirms the spoiler stiffens up when you fit the light. Incredible to think they used to go for $100!

Yeah that's right, it flexes into shape once you fit the light in. There are complaints of the older speed pack spoilers flexing around the light but that is in the opposite direction funnily enough.

What I did when I was check eBay for used spoilers. It only took a couple of weeks of waiting before I found one, with a spare CHMSL, for a couple hundred bucks. I've since seen a couple more pop up. None of the ones I've seen had the seller recognize that it wasn't the regular spoiler so that probably also helped keep the price down.
