Good morning guy's and gals,
On my xk120 how far down (toward the dash) should the steering wheel go?
When I try lowering it , it only moves a couple of inches, with about 3+ inches of spline still showing. It seems to me that it aught to go further. There is a sharp clang when it gets to the end of its travel.

thought I'd ask before tearing into it.

I'm seeing about 2 inches of travel in my steering wheel, which I am trying desperately to remove. It won't come off the splines, but in the meantime, I've lubed the sliding part so can answer your question. I'll try to get in the garage an measure the travel, later.
