So I am starting to assemble all the bits and pieces I need to bring the XK8 Coupe back to what I will consider road worthiness. . I have the new trany, complete suspension replacement parts and a number of other things but the one thing that annoys me is on the passenger side of my 1999 XK8 the glass rides up into a rubber sleeve that sits behind the mirror mount. Mine is split.I can not find a "scrap yard" part anywhere. In fact I'm being told that "they all split due to the window raising to high". So my questions are as follows:

1) Where do you get a replacement without having to sell the dog and the kids in order to cover the cost.

2) What adjustment must be undertaken to the window so in the future it doesn't damage the replacement.
