02xjr to 98xk8
All;
I have a 98 xk8 conv. with a bad engine. I got an 02 xjr engine w/ trans. I've been searching the forum for help, but it looks like this combo hasn't been addressed. I know it's quite a job and would be easier to bail and buy a newer car. I don't trust any nikasil block, and I'd rather not spend for a rebuilt engine. If I could get a complete list of changes, so that i could prepare, or see why i shouldn't. It'd be a huge help.

I worked at the dealer on these cars and I went to all the training classes.
The differences in engine management make this very difficult and time consuming.
I wouldn't attempt it but if you have 2 complete cars it would be possible.(transfer all the required harnesses and modules)
If the finished car was worth a substantial fortune, I'd be tempted but.............
XKRs can be had for $2000 to $15000 all day long. (already running)
