New owner of my dream car. Black xk8 w/ tan interior. 51,000 miles. has a few niggling problems(bad antenna, broken cup holders etc.). What is the best way to look up info and manuals? also sold as an 2006 to all previous owners (3) but shows a mfd date on the door as built in 02-2005. tthanks, hope this newby doesn't bother you all with ?.

Hi Uncle Jim,

Welcome aboard. If you haven't already I would suggest introducing yourself in the new users are of the forum and also search in the DYI sticky there is all kinds of information there. You should be able to download the JTIS Manual which gives a lot of information about maintenance procedures, etc.

Production of the XK8 model ended in late May 2005. Here in the U.S., the last few batches of them shipped here were sold as 2006 models (including my wife's car, built in May 2005 and sold as a 2006)....

It really doesn't matter. Here in the U.S. the 2005 and 2006 are basically the same car. The last run of them were called the Victory Edition and if you have one of those like we do, there are some differences in the taillight assembly, the elm wood dash, and some of the badging. Jaguar was essentially emptying the parts bin by that time and throwing every option on them that they could....

Car manufacturers commonly introduce next year's models 6 months or more ahead of the actual calendar. If Jag said it's a 2006, it's a 2006.

Welcome to the forum uncle jim,

The last Jaguar XK8 (a Frost Blue XKR 4.2 S Coupe) came off the production line at the Browns Lane factory on Friday 27th May 2005. The specification was 2006 Model Year. That vehicle is in the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.
