I am just curious - why not take it to any mechanic and replace the part ($10) in a matter of less than 30 min ($20)? She's driving a Jaguar, she may as well get used to maintaining this delicate status symbol. Don't exactly have to go to the Jag dealer to fix the cigarette lighter problem.

No, there is not a second cigar lighter port. The lighter is fed off fuse 14, 20A off the left fascia fuse panel.

Welcome to the forum and come back if that doesn't help.

This Jag belongs to a very close friend and unfortunetly she is not close enough for me to actually look at the problem. and to top that, she out of town on a trip. can you tell me the location of this fuse box. She had someone at an auto parts store trying to replace the fuse today but I am not sure he was looking in the right place. when you say fuse 14, is the fuse location numbered 14. I am afraid she may need to replace the lighter. Thanks so much for your help.

Thank you so much. She didn't know there was a box on the passenger side.

You should really start another thread for that issue, or just do a search. Gus has lots of info on problems with the convertible top. Look in the FAQs at the top of the XK8 forum.

You should tell your friend to join the forum. We don't have enough females around here.
