1999 XK8 windows and mirrors won't move
Update- I just found a blown 5A fuse in the passenger fascia number 4 slot, door switchpacks, door locking, and am heading to the store now to get fuses.
Hello, I had a battery go completely dead on me, would not even take a charge. I installed a new battery, and now the windows and mirrors won't move using the interior switches. However, the passenger window drops about an inch each time I pull on the outside handle.
I tried resetting the system by disconnecting the new battery and connecting it again, then tried turning the key in the door to the open position for a minute, but no go.
Checked fuse #15 on the driver's and passenger's fascia boxes (door control module), and each 25 amp fuse is fine.
I am stumped and it's cold out, so any help would be appreciated!

I suspect the blown fuse and the failed battery are co-incidental rather than directly related.
With the blown fuse and burning smell, you need to remove the door card for investigation before any serious damage occurs.
After a battery disconnect/reconnect, the system must ‘re-learn’ the window travel limits to ensure correct operation of the automatic window drop facilities.
Re-programming is done with the doors closed and the ignition switch in position ‘I’ or ‘II’, as follows:
1. Press and hold the lower part of the switch. When the window is fully lowered, continue to hold the switch for 5 seconds. You should hear a soft 'click'.
2. Press and hold the upper part of the switch. When the window is fully raised continue to hold the switch for 5 seconds. Again you should hear a soft 'click'.
Carry out this procedure for driver and passenger door windows.
