Default 1999 XKR Climate Control Issue

Hi all,

I am having the following issue with the climate control on my 1999 XKR Couple, RHD.

Pushing the On switch does nothing, holding the On and Auto togther puts on some lights on the unit (but not the LED display), you can then turn up the fan while holding these 2 buttons...

Previously had other eletrical issues (Battery has been replaced and replacement checked), stero not coming on, some fuses going but these have been resolved.

To date I have:
Checked all fuses.
Replaced the front Control Unit (Still does the same)

Appreciate any guidance.
Replaced the Climate Control ECU (pain to get to -still does the same!)

187 Views but 0 Replies as I post this. Let's see if we can get the discussion going.

Attached is the Climate Control troubleshooting section for the 1998 XK8/XKR from JTIS.

Anyone have any ideas? Earth, connections worth checking? Can sort of use the system holding auto and pushing buttons so can still drive car but rather frustrating limited control and no display!

Hi all,

Update! So I left the car running as it was a freexing day and had been able to get the blower on with no display. I then thought on a hunch I will replace the rear heater fuse (it had already been checked a few times but still!) New fuse in and the display is now working!

Thanks for eveyones help.

Cheers,

David

Thanks for reporting back, David! I think everyone was just completely baffled by what you were describing, so maybe this will help someone else with the same baffling symptoms.
