2 questions
Hi guys. Got 2 questions I want to ask.
QUESTION 1 - How do I find out if I have the premium system? I have a 99 xk8 convertible. I have 2 speakers on the dash, 2 speakers in the rear, 2 speakers on the bottom of the door and 2 triangle speakers on the upper part of the door. The triangle speakers have no logo on them. I have no cd changer and no nav. Just the tape deck.
QUESTION 2 - If I remove the fuse for the antenna would it give me problems or do any harm to anything? In the manual it shows the fuse for the antenna is also used for the amplifier for the premium system.
Also, I did a search and found the thread about the switch. Honestly, I just want to power off the 10 foot antenna. I always use my ipod when driving.

Sounds like you probably don't have the premium system. My '99 doesn't have it either but I do have the CD changer in the boot. It's my understanding the premium systems have an amplifier co-mounted in the boot on the right where the CD changer and the Nav system goes as well. As far as speakers in the dash and the triangle speakers, in my vehicle, the grill on the dash is there with no speaker behind it. The triangles are also empty shells in my vehicle.
Regarding the antenna, search for a thread on this subject (use the keyword 'alien') - somebody had a nifty solution to hide a small switch inside the center console to manage whether it's up or down.
I use my iPod most of the time. The iDeck is a great solution.
