once a battery is on the decline the window memory will not stay. If you set it over and over then it’s time to get a battery. Some people see no advantage in purchasing a quality AGM battery for a lot more $$$.

I prefer to pay more now and have a battery that lasts longer. Furthermore, these cars have more problems when the battery is not top quality.

I have a 97 coupe and see this issue every now and then…after car is parked and not driven for I would say more than two weeks, opening either side door will cause the window to go down maybe a half inch and then closing the door the window will not reclose. This is because the battery has drained down some, and the window memory has been lost. This is the reason I have a battery tender on it while parked for a while. I even have a new agm group 49 battery in the car.
if this happens start the car and do a window reset, very easy to do:
sit in the car and turn key to 2 position, don’t start. Start with drivers side;window fully closed. Hold button down till the window opens fully and continue to hold till you hear a click, then close the window fully and continue to hold up until you hear a click, then repeat the process for the passenger side. Turn key off and back on again and should solve the issue. If care is parked for extended periods of time, especially in cold weather use a battery tender, low amperage to maintain battery charge or be prepared to do this a lot. Other issues may pop up as well letting battery drain from extended parking, especially is alarm is set.
