Default 2001 XK8 A/C compressor removal

Anyone have any experience removing the A/C compressor. I need to replace the O rings in the back and it looks like removal is the best option.

You do not need to pull the compressor to replace the "O" rings on the hoses. It is not easy but you can do it.

Thanks Gus, that's just what I needed. I am going try replacing the O rings with the compressor in place. I will let you know how it goes.

If I recall you can reach the bolts for the lines but you will need a few extensions. I think with the compressor in place you can get your hand to both “O” rings it might be a little difficult but it is a lot less aggravating than to drop the compressor.

I hope to add all of this to my how to.

I think I'd rather go to a proctologist than replace the compressor on a XK. Either way you get your a$$ handed to you and you end up with a lot less cuts on your arms.
