I have a problem with my instrument lights. The instrument lights come on in my 2001 XK8 when I start it but if I turn the parking or head lights on or if the lights are in auto mode the headlights come on when it gets dark, the instruments lights go off. Radio light continues to stay on.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Find the dimmer control on the steering wheel column and rotate it.

 

I rotated dimmer control but it had no effect. As soon as headlights go on, instruments lights shutoff.
