Default 2001 XKR Convertible Quarter Window regulator

Hello, looking for advice. As I had ordered a hose due to the green shower, and right before the weekend, my rear quarter window failed.

Finished a tear down today but didn't get a chance to pull the regulator. It appears the cable has slipped off the top white roller.

I have seen a few write ups about replacing the regulator, etc. I'd really like some advice on how to refurbish or repair this economically. I really would take a hit to spend $1,000 on a regulator at the moment.

Anyone have some advice on the next steps or why they think the cable slipped off the roller?

$1000? You can get the part for $285 online (scroll to the bottom of the page): http://www.gaudinjaguarparts.com/par...%26%20HARDWARE

Wow, thanks for the links gentlemen... This repair is definitely coming at a bad time due to unforeseen things with my house as well, so this is great.

Even though I haven't had a chance to pull the regulator, and the cable is definitely off the track, in your opinion would you both order a new one to get the shipping process going, etc?

I like the option of having window regulator USA rebuild it; anyone have experience with their turn around time and the quality of their rebuild service? If not, I'll call in the morning and report.

Much appreciated and the value of having this community is amazing.

It appears there are great feedback in the forums, but I can't seem to get anyone on the phone to ask a question or talk to them. Left a voice message and sent an email but no reply.

I want them to re-enforce the regulator so there is no flexing...

Why don' t you just go for a new part from JPAM parts?...it is about the same price.

I basically did not want to purchase a new one without the reinforcement a quality rebuild can offer, and for $140, you can't beat the price either as I am on a budget ATM.

I was able to speak to Alexander @ Window Regulator USA and he was very knowledgeable and wasn't able to answer the phone as he was away with family.

Sending my regulator out today and will post the results upon return.

I wanted to follow up on the window regulator. It worked flawlessly after putting it in.

I've been busy doing other things but finally got everything swapped out and out together.

Had to change 2 fuel pumps, the window regulator and the convertible top hydraulic hose all at once. It was quite the task but I'm happy to report all is working.

The window regulator rebuild is a quality one.
