Default 2001 XKR head rest motor not working

I originally posted this in the wrong model category - so I'm re-posting it here.

I have a 2001 XKR. The driver side head rest doesn't adjust. I read the post regarding the headrest cable sheath problem. My problem however is that the motor doesn't activate at all. The other seat motors are working fine, so I think it can't be a fuse.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Steve

That sorta leaves the switch, the connectors, the motor or the seat control module. Then these cars have a propensity to rub through the wiring insulation which usually produces a blown fuse (#1 and #8 driver fascia panel).

There are relays on the module board but no one has yet come up with the schematic for board itself.

You might try swapping the module with the passenger seat one while checking the connections under the seat.

I saw a suggestion in another thread about swapping the passenger seat module with the driver seat to test some functions. Is it fairly easy to do this? Are the modules identical?

Thanks.

Looking at the wiring diag for your car, it appears the "head restraint" motor AND "head restraint" control module are located in the seat back.
All the other seat functions are controlled by the "seat control module" under the respective seat. Both are fed by the same source.

I've only been a Jag owner for about a month. I haven't found all the sources of info I need yet. Where can I find a wiring diagram? Is there a source online?

Thanks!

You can get a subscription to All Data or pick up a JTIS off Ebay.

A JTIS down load is available here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=9933

It has all the years up through '03 and electrical schematics.
