2001 XKR leaking transmission plug
My transmission is leaking from the electrical plug in the front of the transmission. This is an XKR so it uses the Dodge 5-speed, not the ZF transmission.
It is my understanding this is a common failure. A couple questions:
1. Is the plug identical on all versions of this transmission. I can find the new plug sealing adapter but when you look at the vehicles covered I can't find the jag XKR listed.
2. On the you tube videos for swapping this out it always shows the pan and valve body removed. Is this necessary? It looks like it can just screw in from the side without removing the pan.

It's actually a Mercedes 722.6. The plug may just be leaking from the outer connector o ring, which does just attach with a screw. But I think you have to get the heat shield out of the way to do it.
