Default 2001MY XKR Fuel Pump Flow Rate

The secondary fuel pump on my car has failed. Avos has just installed a 2.6hl twin screw to my car. I could replace the 2nd pump with stock but think for the price of the jag item, I could do something much better.

Any ideas? No bar room talk. Want folk to reply who have good experience please as this tank is only coming out once. Thanks.

OK. Have now found a company in the UK that can dyno the fuel pump. Will post results when they are available - 2 -3 weeks. (Need to buy a pump, mail it and have it mailed back to me). Cheers.

Now have the dyno results in for the standard fuel pump fitted to our XK8/XKRs. They are as follows:

12.5vdc

43psi/108ltr/6.5amp
58psi/73/7.5

65psi/55/8
73psi/53/8.3

13.5vdc

43psi/135ltr/7 amp
58psi/101/8

65psi/87/8.4
73psi/65/9

Hope this helps. I am supposed to be getting full graphs sent out at some point but I think these figures capture the key points.

(Of interest to all, but probably aimed at those who run Kenne Bell Twin Screw conversions).

Sorry, my computer is having trouble with Adobe right now and I can't open the files.

But I wanted to ask, are the units in your second column Liters per hour?

Also, if I recall, your British Litre is slightly different than the Liter we are accustomed to here in the US. I assume they measured the pumps in your units?

When my secondary fuel pump failed, I fitted a Walbro 255lph in it's place. It is larger than the stock pump so I had to bore out the stock bracket and bend one end out.

Thinking along similar lines. Any issues, other than the mod to fit. I assume you soldered the fittings and shrink wrapped the join?

No issues other than what I said about fitting it. I soldered and shrink wrapped. Make sure the heat shrink tubing is rated for use in gas.
