MY 2002 XK8 HAS A BADLY LEAKING RADIATOR which I am having replaced next week. The estimate shows a "plastic tank", and I'd like to know if anyone out there has had this done & are they satisfied?

 

I've moved your post to the XK8/XKR section where it will get more visibility and response. As for the radiator leak - yes had the same leak and replaced the radiator. There is a plastic tank on each side of the radiator fins that develops cracks over time. Can't replace just the tank, need to replace the entire radiator. I replaced mine with a Nissen's and have been pleased

 

I had a cracked tank on one of my 2000MY XKRs and got a NISSENS 66701.

Should fit ALL 4.0 liter XKs.

 

I just had a new radiator installed, stock #MJB 004190AF, but I don't know the brand. The shop is 100 miles away, and I had 2 additional issues: Lower radiator hose was also leaking, and they could not find locally,
and the alternator was hot & beginning to deterioate, so they found a remanufactured unit locally. I was pleased with the service, as I told them I did not to see another " coolant low message" Thanks to all who sent me their experiences.
