Default 2003 XK8 cruise control basics

Gentlemen

I have a 2003 XK8 with the standard cruise control (not adaptive ACC)

When the cruise control is engaged I do NOT see any indication that cruise control in on but it is functioning via the 4 steering wheel control buttons

I didn't see anything in the owners manual showing a dash indication of on or speed etc

Just checking Is there an indication that the cruise id on?

Randy

You should see a brief message saying cruise control engaged.

Yes, it would. But the cruise control does work? If it does, accelerate while in cruise and look for a 'cruise override' message.. There should also be a 'cruise disengaged' when you cancel.

Default Cruise control

Yes the cruise control works but no instrument display that it is engaged

on startup the system goes into a brief system check and I do not see any lights related to cruise control so maybe I have a Burned out bulb

at least the cc works

I only have direct knowledge of my 2000 MY but no messages and no problems with cruise control.
There does not appear to be any CAN involvement unless adaptive cruise is fitted and l can find no messages related to cruise listed for message centre.

The earlier cars with the cruise on/off switch by the j-gate don't show any messages. I had always assumed that the later cars without this cruise on/off switch did show a message instead - odd that they don't.
