2003 XK8 front end bushings avail in a kit?
Well recently a shop told me I needs bushing up front. Are there any kits out there that are avail that will cover most of the bushing needed? I was told the ball joints are fine. told control arm bushing are bad, sway bar, top shock mount bushing, prob lower also.
Well, it seems to cover everything that you mentioned with the exception of the shock mounts and bushing (lower)... the shock mounts need to be sourced separately (I got mine on PartsGeek) and if you are going to replace the lower shock bushings you may as well just replace the whole shock given the cost.
I think I need springs also. Even with the bad top mounts it sits really low in front. I priced everything a couple ways and to go all out short of ball joints I was in the 1500-2k range just in parts.
Man that's expensive. I replaced everything, upper lower ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, shocks, upper shock mounts, shock gator, upper and lower control arm bushings on both side for just a little over 1K with shipping costs to Hawaii.

That's certainly not the case here in the UK.
2 x Lower shock absorber bushes = $45
2 x Shock Absorber (standard not adaptive) = $520
Forum discounts or "shopping around" might get a small reduction on those prices, but in any event - quite a difference !!
I only know this because I recently went through a fairly complete front suspension overhaul. The lower bushings are quite complicated, more like a universal joint than *just* two bits of rubber or polyurethane. They are not easy to replace but the saving in cost is significant.

Here in the states, the bushings are available at PartsGeek for like $71 each and Bilstein shocks are $114 at Advance Auto... for the extra $43 a side I would definitely replace the shocks if I were doing everything else.
Amazing the price differences on each side of the pond...
