I believe the 2005 and 2006 models are the same, at least here in the U.S. They all seem to have been built during 2005. My wife's 2006 XK8 Victory Edition was built in May 2005, the same build month as our 2005 S-Type 3.0....

Perhaps another member can provide more exact information for you....

Same car is my understanding, although as 2006 was last year for that model, many of the cars built late in the run had features on them that were originally optional. They came at no cost over base so Jaguar could clean out the bins, so to speak.

The last XKR came off the production line at Jaguar's Browns Lane factory on Friday 27th May 2005. It is now on display at JDHT (Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust).

You will correctly find 2006MY in the US and Canada because they are dated at import and not at the time they leave the production line.

A.f.a.i.k. Australia is the only market where Jaguar's must have the build date stamped on the vehicle.

In the us, the build month has to be on the build sticker in door jam.
But yes, it could have the build date of 5-05 and still be called a MY 06.

Great !! Good to know - either of those two years would be good. Does anyone have a 2006 Brochure - Or is there such a thing as a 2006 brochure?- maybe it gives a hint about any changes?

Jaguar produced one of their best ever brochures for the Final Series XK8/XKR known as the 'Victory Edition' in the US and the 'S' in Europe.

Describing it as a brochure is an understatement for a hardback A4 landscape book!

This has long been a collectors item but it has a comprehensive coverage.

The previous MY had the usual style glossy brochure which you can download from my MediaFire account as a PDF by following this link:

http://www.mediafire.com/view/beo254...K_Brochure.pdf

Plenty of specification and option information towards the back of it.

Default 2006 Brochure

Got the brochure - but it describes the 2007 all aluminum model. Maybe there is no brochure for the 2006 steel body - especially if they are essential 2005s.

I gave you a link to download the steel bodied 2006 XK8/XKR Brochure in post #7 and Mike attached the same one in his post #11.

Where have you got the aluminium bodied XK brochure from?
