2006 XK8 Factory Blue tooth questions
Bought a 2006 xk8 convertible for my wife, it has a blue tooth capable radio from the factory. I have the original Jaguar supplement for blue tooth connectivity and have paired a cell phone with it everything works as it should as far as hearing call audio, however the caller can not hear the person in the car. The microphone is not working. I have checked the wiring in the overhead console and the shoe microphone that is just to the drivers side of the overhead console, is plugged in. Does anyone know if there is a connector under the center console that needs to be connected to make this work? Also, if any one has knowledge on how to test the microphone from an electrical perspective( voltage, ohms, amps) that would be appreciated.
Thank You.
Thank You.

Well I wish to disagree, at some level. I do have a XK8 Model Year 2006, Vin ends in A45943. The stereo is original in that the radio code cards that came with the car work for this radio. And it came with papers that clearly state hand written at the top "2006 XK8 Bluetooth Manual" however the pages I have start at page 16, and I don't have pages 1-16.
Never the less if I follow the directions on these pages, some of which are highlighted by a previous owner, I can pair my Samsung 10 and my wife's Iphone, I can then answer and make calls and everything works thru the cars audio system, other than the microphone is not working.
The first few instructions in the manual as as follows if anyone else wants to see if their radio may also have this capability.
Ignition position II
Press the button with image of an old fashoined phone(actual image in manual), on the audio panel. SIG will be displayed.
Using the audio keypad enter the code ##3#*#, and press the button with a picture of just the handset(actual image in manual)
SIG**** will be displayed
Turn on mobile phones blue tooth connection .....
I would guess that these are the same instructions for a 2006/7 x150 and that the radios were upgraded at some point in time for their introduction, but just a guess.
Any how if any one has a solution or a way to trouble shoot the microphone it would be welcome.
Incidentally while researching my purchase there was a YouTube guy from the UK that does XK* videos ang one of his listes the difference between model years. More info on the older years, I think he got bored by the time he got to 2006. However in the video it references bluetooth being added to 2006.
All in all this is great news since mine is so rare the value may have just risen, That and getting the fuel trims down into the norml range might get me a coffee.

Quick thought and you've probably already tried this; have you double checked the bluetooth settings on the phone's themselves? In previous instances with the Jag bluetooth paring, I have had to go into my phone settings and indicate that the jag module would also be the microphone. It's not consistent with phone, software or paring instance so I can't say it's always the case but it may help.
