2006 xkr enhance music experience
Hi all, i have a 2006 xkr convertible that i would like to add either a bluetooth option or a satelite music option. Has anyone been able to accomplish this without changing the radio? i would appreciate any tips or advice. thank you.
There are a few ways to accomplish getting bluetooth music. Some searching will turn up adapters that plug into the CD changer connection.
On my 2004 XK8 I just adapted the cassette to 3.5 plug then plugged that into a bluetooth receiver that pairs to my phone. I get music that way but no voice control or steering wheel integration that the adapters can do.
Details of my DIY using cassette are here.
Its likely others will chime in with more options.

I've fallen in love with this unit. Ez to install, sounds much better than the CD changer, 4 star customer service.

I am still trying to get my android phone to connect to my 2006 XK8. I have the manual, it shows the connection, but will not recognize the phone. If the bluetooth is working this connection may or may not work on my XK?
The easiest way to enhance the music experience on an XKR is to replace the center resonator with an X or an H pipe, remove the before rear axle mufflers and either keep or replace the post-rear axle mufflers with magnaflows.
Then the XKR will really belt a beautiful baritone song.
