Thanks for starting this thread. I've posted several parts (including the pollen filter box, which many XK8s don't have factory-installed). You can find them in the equivalent spare parts section. Sorry, I didn't know how to start a thread. I'm actually working on the radio issue, but haven't had time to start sketching. I hope it's done by now. Thanks.
If that website has parts available, they've done a good job. If you'd like, we can use this thread to post the printable part files (should I move the files from the equivalent spare parts thread here?). Just so you know, they need to be printed in ABS or polypropylene (some in TPU).
That would be a good idea to move the 3d parts files here, I have a couple I have made as well in actually 3d printed some center caps for m
y XK8 here is picture
Here are the ones I've made and used on my XK8. Since this thread is about 3D printed parts, it should be easy for everyone to find. These are the speaker covers for the inside of the front doors (for printing with soft or elastic material). The pollen filter comes in two pieces for use with adhesive (it won't fit in a printer) and also as a single piece. And the drip rails that go above the headlight housings (many of us have probably lost them). I've made the interior supports for the door panels, but I haven't needed them. I can share them, but only as a draft so that someone else who needs them can improve them.
I've already sent the pollen filter in STL format, but if necessary I can send it in STEP format.
Be careful with the scales, I drew in millimeters.
Very well done. I fixed it with two-part epoxy and reinforcing mesh, but it would look much better this way. I'm sure there aren't any boxes left intact. This piece will be very useful.
I'm thinking about something. The STL format is very standard, but it sometimes causes problems when working with modeling programs. I'm thinking that the STEP format might allow for easy improvements to the designs. I'll change the pollen filter housing to this format.

I'd say the holy grail here would here be 3D printed headlight lenses for when the genuine glass lenses finally become unobtainable. I see there are companies that offer to print, example here. Would be great if somebody with laser scanner access could have a go at making STEP files of the lenses!
Agreed. I actually bought my 3D printer specifically to print parts for the XK. So far, I've only printed a mount for my Android Radio Screen, and a cover for the space occupied by the original stereo.
Should we move the files to the new thread? Please give us the instructions.
Have you uploaded your mount for the Android Radio Screen and the cover? I'm interested in those 3D parts; I just bought an Android radio.
Regarding the "fake glass" (polycarbonate or other transparent plastic) for headlights, I'm worried; ours are made of glass. Would a "fake glass" without the homologation markings be legal? I doubt it, but it needs to be investigated, since fortunately our headlights are made of several pieces that can be reproduced.

Resounding yes, do move the files to the new thread.
